4 out of 5 NYC restaurants making the grade

NEW YORK

Officials say 80 percent of the New York City restaurants inspected so far under the new rating system have been found to be making the grade.

City officials say 250 restaurants have completed the food safety and sanitary inspections.

They say 48 percent of them received an A, while 31 percent earned a B.

Only 8 percent have done so poorly that they've been closed.

The health department expects it to take about 14 months to complete the inspection of all of the city's 24,000 restaurants.
