Prisoner escapes in WV, may head to NJ

NEW YORK

Albert Voute, who is covered in tattoos, was being transported to New Jersey from a federal prison in Kentucky where he was serving time for bank robbery.

Police say he escaped Wednesday morning when the transport van stopped at a restaurant in West Virginia.

Voute removed his leg shackles and ran away.

He's facing carjacking charges in Bergen County, but police say Voute may head to New Jersey because he used to live there.
