LIRR announces disruptions for signal work

The Long Island Rail Road has already hit passengers with service disruptions for a summer equipment fire, two tornadoes and a hurricane.

Now it's canceling service to modernize.

The railroad says most of its trains will not run on October 23 and 24, or on November 6 and 7.

The LIRR will use those weekends to replace the signal system that caught fire in August.

Just three trains per hour will make the trip into Penn Station.
