DWI suspect goes wrong way on NY parkway

YONKERS

Westchester County police told the Journal News they got several 911 calls early Monday reporting that a driver was going north in the southbound lanes of the Saw Mill River Parkway.

Mario Medina was arrested on charges that included driving while intoxicated, reckless endangerment and fleeing from police.

The name of his attorney was not immediately available.

In 2009, a wrong-way crash on the Taconic State Parkway in Westchester County killed eight people, four of them children. An autopsy showed that driver was drunk and high on marijuana.
