Fire burns through Brooklyn supermarket, apartments

A fire burned through a supermarket in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn on Friday.

The fire broke out inside the Associated Supermarkets store on Fifth Avenue just after noon.

Heavy smoke spewed from the three-story building, which houses the supermarket and apartments above.

The fire continued to burn in small pockets late Friday night, reaching five alarms.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
