Car plows into UES restaurant

December 14, 2010 6:20:55 PM PST
A driver lost control and slammed into the front of a restaurant on the Upper East Side Tuesday evening.

It happened just before 6 p.m. on the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 85th Street.

The car crashed into the front of a "Chirping Chicken" restaurant, after jumping a curb.

It struck a brick wall between two glass entrances, which kept the vehicle from plowing through the building.

Two people inside the car were hurt.

No one in the restaurant was injured.
