Suspect charged in rapes a decade apart

BRONX Terry King, 39, was arrested Friday evening in front of his Longwood home one day after police announced a DNA link to the two rapes.

The first attack happened 11 years ago on August 16, 2000 at 5:30 in the morning.

The suspect, armed with a gun, approached the 21-year-old victim in the vicinity of Webster Avenue and pulled her into a vacant room where he raped her before fleeing.

The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital. The suspect was never apprehended.

The second attack happened on November 4 at 2:15 in the morning.

Once again, the suspect, armed with a gun, approached a 21-year-old woman in the vicinity of Sound View Avenue and pulled her into a White Nissan Pathfinder where he raped her before fleeing.

The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital in stable condition.

Investigators working the case identified King as the suspect and waited outside his last known address to make the arrest.

Police said during questioning King made statements implicating himself to the rapes.

King is charged with rape and criminal possession of a weapon.
