Suspect wanted in two sex assaults, robbery

BAY RIDGE, Brooklyn

The attacks happened in the Bay Ridge section on Friday night just 20 minutes apart.

One of those attacks was caught on camera and released by police.

First the suspect is seen sneaking down an alleyway then the video cuts to him running away with his coat under his arm.

This afternoon police handed out fliers to Bay Ridge residents.

"I get a few to put in my neighbors houses. Some people don't come out," said Saida Dakhlaour.

The first attack happened at 11 p.m., Friday night near the corner of 82nd street and 5th avenue.

The suspect pointed a gun at the back of a 44-year-old woman's head as she was going into her apartment building.

He pistol-whipped her in the face, stole her cell phone, and tried to sexually assault her.

But she was able to fight him off.

Then twenty minutes later, the suspect threatened a 22-year-old woman with a gun near 82nd and 7th, shoved her behind a building into the alleyway stole her cell phone and sexually assault her.

The suspect is a white man between 5'6" and 5'9", weighing 150-170 pounds.

He was wearing a dark-colored windbreaker, a blue hoodie, and tan maybe gray pants.

Neighbors are shaken by the news but on the lookout.

"You have to be careful anywhere. It can happen anywhere no matter where you are. Even in the nicest of neighborhoods," said John Burgmyer.
