Police arrested 61-year-old /*Michael Kramer*/ at his home on First Avenue in /*Massapequa Park*/ around 6:25 a.m. Thursday.
Kramer is employed as a substitute teacher for the /*Cold Spring Harbor School District*/.
Police say Kramer used an online file sharing website to promote numerous images containing sexual performances of a child.
The investigation also revealed the defendant was in possession of over 400 additional images of child pornography.
Cold Spring Harbor Superintendent Dr. Judith Wilansky says Kramer has worked as a general substitute at the Junior/Senior High School since 2000.
They've never had any complaints or problems with him.
The district was notified of his arrest Thursday afternoon and he was immediately suspended without pay.
Dr. Wilansky calls the news "very distressing." She says they have reviewed his use of school technology and found nothing inappropriate.
Kramer is charged with three counts of Promoting Sexual Performance of a Child and two counts of Possession of Sexual Performance of a Child.
He will be arraigned Friday at First District Court in /*Hempstead*/.
