Suspects arrested in high-end burglaries

BERGEN COUNTY

The crime spree came to an end on Thursday night when detectives arrested Diandre Mikell, Jason Mikell and Jerry Montgomery following yet another burglary.

Investigators had followed the suspects into Somerset County as they cased homes to burglarize.

Diandre Mikell, Jason Mikell and Jerry Montgomery were then followed to a residential area located on Stacey Lane in Basking Ridge, NJ, where police say they attempted to commit a residential burglary, but were confronted by the homeowner.

The three took off and headed to another house located on Hodge Drive in Bridgewater, NJ.

Police said Diandre Mikell, Jason Mikell and Jerry Montgomery cut the phone lines and dismantled the security alarm, and forced their way through the front door. Once inside, investigators said they proceeded to ransack the house, carry out a large safe containing numerous pieces of jewelry and cash and carry out a pillowcase full of jewelry and coins.

After Bridgewater Police Department confirmed that a burglary, task force members along with members of the Bridgewater and Green Brook Police Departments, stopped the suspects' car on Route 22 in Green Brook, NJ.

Authorities believe the defendants have been hitting upscale homes since October of last year.
