Well-known NJ restaurant goes up in flames

A large fire tore through a well-known restaurant in New Jersey overnight.

The fire burned through Ferraro's, on Elm Street in Westfield, just before 12:15 a.m. Thursday morning.

Heavy flames tore through the roof of the structure, keeping firefighters busy for hours.

Residents of seven second-floor apartments were evacuated, and two were treated smoke inhalation.

The restaurant started as a pizzeria in 1969 and expanded into three buildings.
