New timetables as LIRR switches to summer schedule

The Long Island Rail Road is switching to its summer schedule Monday.

The changes will stay in effect until September 11.

The summer projects include new railroad ties on the main line and a new third rail on the Port Washington branch.

New running rail is also being installed on the Babylon line.
