NJ Transit Morris & Essex Line back on schedule

Commuters faced a rought morning commute after an NJ Transit train struck and killed a woman on the tracks at Short Hills station.

NJ Transit spokeswoman Penny Bassett Hackett says Train 6600 had left Dover station at 4:30 a.m. with about 70 passengers aboard when it struck the person around 5 a.m.

The passengers were transferred to another train.

There were delays of up to an hour on the Morris & Essex Line between Dover and Hoboken and Dover and New York's Penn Station.

The death remains under investigation.
