Contaminated soil has closed school fields in Connecticut.

Officials have shut down the athletic fields at Greenwich High School after construction crews discovered the toxic chemicals.

State environmental officials say the next step is to remove the toxins from the soil and replace the fields.

District officials are making plans for the sports teams in case the work is not done when school resumes in a few weeks.
