Woman groped by man snaps picture on subway

NEW YORK

"I am punching him this way as I am going onto the train," Shyane DeJesus described.

It was a desperate attempt by DeJesus, to fight off a man who she claims suddenly began groping her as she waited on the platform at Union Square for the 6 train.

"He was going to keep coming at you pushed him away?" Eyewitness News asked.

"Until I pushed him away. And it's just sick, it's sick," DeJesus said.

He then became more forceful.

"He just went for it. He grabbed my left shoulder. He pushed my head forward. He lifted my dress and groped me from underneath," DeJesus said.

As the train pulled into the station, Shyane say she was shocked because the guy then gets in the car and sits down as if nothing had happened.

"I didn't even get to sit down, I was so hysterical. And I just raced down the car and I just started punching and kicking him," DeJesus said.

There were 10 other people on the train.

"They just blocked out the whole situation. They wouldn't come to help," DeJesus said.

Without even thinking, she then grabbed her cell phone with a camera to make sure she had additional evidence.

"I didn't know if I got the right angle, my hand was shaking and I just took the picture. And before I got off the car I gave him one last slam in the face," DeJesus said.

Others riders applaud Shyane.

"I think it's great! Good use of a Blackberry," a subway rider said.
