Police took 24-year-old Jerry Lewis into custody in Laurel, Maryland, for allegedly killing 21-year-old Shakeela Planter and her 2-year-old son Jaiden on December 23.
Lewis, also of North Bay Shore, is Planter's ex-boyfriend. He was reportedly found near his mother's home and is now facing second-degree murder charges.
Planter and the toddler were found dead in the Cardinal Court home around 5:15 p.m. Friday. Planter was stabbed to death and Jaiden was found stuffed in the freezer.
