Lawmakers have deal for new teacher evaluations

The three most powerful politicians in New York have a deal on the table for a new teacher evaluation law.

Governor Andrew Cuomo, Senate Majority leader Dean Skelos and Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver call the bill a national model for teacher evaluation.

They say it delivers on a commitment to establish a new evaluation system in return for $700 million from the federal Race to the Top program.
