Police say they were called to the trailer park on West 24th Street Wednesday night for an emotionally-disturbed person who barricaded himself inside one of the homes.
Sources say when police confronted the man, he lunged at them with a knife and the officers shot him.
Neighbors say they heard three or four gunshots.
Those who knew the victim said he had mental problems and had recently stopped taking his medication.
