Concrete spill in lobby of Midtown hotel

MIDTOWN The accident left part of the lobby of Le Parker Meridien on West 57th Street under a fresh covering of concrete. The accident happened just before noon.

Witnesses told Eyewitness News that workers were pouring concrete at construction site bordering the hotel. The weight of it caused the hotel's well to break, allowing went cement to flood the hotel lobby.

One man estimates the pool left behind was 18 inches deep and says the wave of cement was so powerful, it moved the furniture across the lobby.

No people in the lobby were hit by the concrete. No one was injured.
