New York City cracks down on park smoking

There are no butts about it, New York City city is cracking down on those who violate anti-smoking laws.

So far this year, 108 summonses have been handed out for smoking in parks, on beaches and in other public spaces.

That's more than were issued in all of 2011.

New York City banned smoking in bars and restaurants in 2003.

But last year, Mayor Michael Bloomberg signed a law extending the ban to outdoor spaces.
