Design on a Dime features more than 50 of the world's top interior designers, who donate furniture and decorating items at deep discounts.
All profits from the event help 'Housing Works', a non-profit organization which helps homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.
Housing Works is building 12 new units of housing in the Jefferson Avenue Residence project in Bedford Stuyvesant, Brooklyn.
Evette Rios loves the concept, in part because she covers design, entertaining and food on ABC's "The Chew".
But also because she grew up in Bed Stuy, just blocks away from the project.
"There is definitely a community that's underserved, that's underprivileged, and this is smack in the heart of it" said Rios.
"So for me it was really special because I came from here. So I'm so glad that Housing Works is giving back."
And you can give back as well at the annual Design On A Dime fundraiser in Manhattan this weekend.
"At Design On A Dime, they're going to find 59 booths with some of the country's top designers, chock full of new products at 50 to 70 percent off retail," said David Raper of Housing Works.
Housing Works hopes to raise $1 million, money that's sorely needed so that more people have a place to call home.
"We've got a goal of over 300 new housing units in the next couple of years," said Raper.
"And we also provide health services, job training services, everything people need to get back on their own two feet."
Evette created one of the vignettes, with items from Home Goods.
The look was inspired by the royal couple.
The prices throughout the event are right, and everything goes to a worthy cause.
At the new Jefferson Avenue Residence there will be 24 hour security and case managers on site to help the residents as much as possible.
