Police search for brazen jewelry thieves in Astoria

NEW YORK

The NYPD released security video of the men inside Yogi Lala Jewelers in astoria on April 13.

Investigators say one man distracted the clerk by asking questions about items, while the other loosened the lock on the case and lifted it up.

He removed several items without employees noticing.

The first suspect is described as a black male, approximately 50 years old, about 6-foot tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has dark skin and a bald head.

The second suspect is also a black male, approximately 30 years old, standing 6-feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He has dark skin and a Caesar hair style.

Anyone with information in regard to this incident or the identity and whereabouts of these suspects is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
