Hundreds of people in central New Jersey woke up without electricity Monday morning after wild weather late Sunday knocked down trees and power lines.

In Connecticut, Interstate 95 in Norwalk was shut down because of flooding. Several cars were stuck in the high water.

In Lake Carmel, Putnam County, dozens of trees were knocked down in the storm.

Some fell on cars and homes, but fortunately no one was hurt.

Lightning was a big problem on Long Island.

Firefighters in Suffolk County say lightning struck a home in Mount Sinai.

Two firefighters were also injured in Terryville when lightning struck another home.
