There was a shocking act of vandalism targeting St. Agnes Church in Midtown.

Someone knocked over the statue of Saint Agnes outside the church's rectory on East 43rd Street Sunday night.

The statue was damaged and left face down in the dirt.

Police are now searching for surveillance video of the incident.

The statue was placed at the church after a fire destroyed the original building in 1992.
