The driver was then wounded by another officer who fired at him. The incident happened around 5 p.m. Tuesday in the Bronx.

Police say the officer and a detective in plainclothes were approaching a car when the driver hit the officer. The other officer fired once, hitting the 31-year-old driver in the leg.
