Up Close: Sandy Aid

NEW YORK

The House finally approved the first part of the package on Friday: $9 billion for flood insurance claims.

The larger bill, for another $51 billion in aid, comes up for a vote January 15th.

Rep. Peter King of Long Island blasted House Speaker John Boehner and some of his other fellow Republicans for initially delaying the vote on funding for Sandy recovery.

We caught up with Rep. King moments after the House vote.

Also this week, with former MTA Chairman Joe Lhota considering a run for mayor, the Republican field just got more crowded and interesting.
