4-alarm fire burned through 2 Bayonne buildings

BAYONNE, N.J.

Firefighters had some difficulty approaching the scene because it was on a one way, dead end street that is very narrow. They had to run their hoses a longer distance because the trucks couldn't fit down the street.

Everyone was evacuated from the buildings.

The fire started inside 4 Trembley Court.

A neighbor phoned in the fire at around 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Six fire companies from Bayonne, three from Jersey City and some from North Hudson and Kearney responded to the scene.

There are two apartments in each building for a total of four apartments involved.

The Red Cross is working to find housing for six families comprised of 16 people that were displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
