ROOSEVELT, N.Y. --A man was killed early Saturday morning when his car crashed on the Southern State Parkway in Roosevelt, Long Island. Police say 23-year old Timothy Kearney was traveling westbound on the Southern State Parkway at around 4:30 a.m. when his Toyota Camry left the roadway west of exit 21 and drove onto the center median, striking the guide rail. The Toyota mounted the rail, overturned and struck a tree before catching on fire. Kearney, who was alone in the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
