Police on Long Island arrested a Bronx man for allegedly driving while intoxicated with three children and four adult passengers in his vehicle Sunday night.

Authorities say Ernesto Lezama, 42, was driving a 2001 Dodge northbound on Mill Road near Skips Road in Coram when he was observed driving erratically and crossing over the double yellow line in the center of the road.

Police stopped the vehicle and discovered that among the seven passengers were two 11-year-old children and one 14-year-old.

Officers determined that Lezama was driving while intoxicated and placed him under arrest.

Lezama was charged with three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a child passenger (Leandra's Law) and one count of driving while intoxicated.

The children were released to the custody of family members.
