The accident happened around 4 Saturday morning in the Eastbound lanes of the Grand Central Parkway between Utopia Parkway and 188th Street.

Police say the 20-year-old driver, Madosh Hansraj was speeding at up 120 miles an hour, and was under the influence.

He walked away without any injuries, but two of his passengers, 17-year-old Meera Dukharan and 18-year-old Anil Persaud, a young couple, were ejected and killed. They were not wearing their seatbelts.

The couple leaves behind a 14-month-old baby girl. The other three passengers were rushed to New York Hospital and are expected to be okay.

People who live in the area say this stretch of roadway is dangerous.

"People are too careless when they drive, especially at night, evenings, especially on weekends," says Angel Capellan, "but I say the main problem is that people are not altogether aware of danger areas."

The driver is facing numerous charges from Manslaughter to Illegal speeding to Driving while impaired.

The driver's bumper was found 100 yards away - the length of a football field.

All eastbound lanes of the Grand Central Parkway were closed for several hours after the accident.

Two westbound lanes were also closed.
