Beginning September 30, a school lunch with cost $1.75, up from $1.50.
The Department of Education cited the rising costs of labor and food.
The last price increase was 10 years ago, when the price jumped from 50 cents to $1.50.
Students who now pay a reduced rate will start getting their lunch free. About 75 percent of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches under a federal program for families earning less than $43,600 per year.
Breakfast will continue to be free for all students.
