New Jersey 'stronger than the storm' ads set to end

TRENTON

Governor Chris Christie took a lot of flak for appearing in the federally-funded commercials during his re-election campaign.

But the governor says the $25 million campaign showed people across the country and in Canada that the Garden State was ready to welcome them in spite of the damage suffered during Superstorm Sandy.

"That ringing in your head from hearing it over and over and over again, I guarantee you come December, you're going to miss them," Christie said during a news conference.

Christie says controversial ads will end September 1.
