$5,000 reward offered in deadly Setauket hit and run

Suffolk County police are now offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of a hit-and-run driver who left a man to die on the street in Setauket.

Police say Joseph Santiago was walking on Ridgeway Avenue around 1:20 a.m. on August 23 when he was struck by a westbound white vehicle that fled the scene.

Police think the vehicle has front-end damage on the passenger side and the undercarriage.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

The investigation is continuing.
