Power restored after outage at Palisades Center Mall

WEST NYACK

Police say initial reports indicate the outage may be caused by a transformer issue.

Orange and Rockland utility workers restored power by 3:15 p.m. after digging up a switch that had failed and repairing it.

When the power went out, automatic fire alarms began to sound, advising customers to exit the mall.

Customers left in an orderly fashion and no one was hurt.

The area of the mall which was affected extended from the center court to the east wing, involving about 30 percent of the mall.
