Police hunt suspect in two Manhattan bank robberies

NEW YORK

The first happened Friday morning at Popular Community Bank on Delancey Street on the Lower East Side.

Police say less than half an hour later, the same man robbed a Capital One Bank on East 34th Street.

In both incidents, he handed the tellers a note demanding $7,000, and threatening them with a gun.

He took off with a little more than $2800 after both robberies. There were no injuries in either incident.

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'8" tall, weighing 165 lbs., with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a gray skull cap, black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, black shoes and black sunglasses.
