Investigators say the suspect drove up alongside a 12-year-old girl Wednesday afternoon and tried to get her into his light-colored SUV.
The incident happened just after 4 p.m. on 49th Street and Ditmars Boulevard, not far from LaGuardia Airport.
The girl refused, and the man took off when the girl's babysitter approached.
