The search is on for a man police say attacked a livery cab driver in the Bronx after refusing to pay the fare.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. Wednesday on Tinton Avenue, after the driver had brought the man to the outer borough from Manhattan.

Police say the 47-year-old driver locked the suspect in the cab after the man said his girlfriend was bringing money for the fare.

Once the girlfriend showed up, the suspect told her not to pay.

When the driver tried to snap a picture of him, authorities say he punched the driver in the face.

The victim was treated at Lincoln Hospital.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5-foot-6 and weighing 160 pounds.

Anyone with information in regards to this robbery is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
