Firefighters hurt battling Bedford Hills house fire

BEDFORD HILLS

One of them was trapped when the flames caused the home's roof to collapse.

The fire started early Saturday morning at a home on Bisbee Lane in Bedford Hills. Six departments responded with about 75 firefighters.

Its location on a dirt road made it difficult for firefighters, who used tankers to shuttle water to the scene.

The owner of the 3,000 square foot house says no one was inside at the time. She said she had purchased the property with the intent of demolishing the home and building a new one.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.

None of the firefighters' injuries are life-threatening.
