Long Island man accused of DWI crash with infant and toddler inside

HUNTINGTON STATION

According to police, Duhaney Duncan, 42, of Huntington Station, was driving a 2005 Dodge pickup westbound on the shoulder of Jericho Turnpike in Huntington Station Saturday night at 7:55 p.m. when he struck a Nissan minivan that was parked in front of the Brooklyn Pizza restaurant, at 881 Jericho Turnpike.

Duncan and his two children, ages 1 and 2, who were in the vehicle with him at the time of the crash, were not injured.

Duncan was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated With a Child 15 Years Old or Younger (Leandra's Law) and two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The children were released to their mother.

Leandra's Law is named after an 11-year-old girl killed when a woman drunkenly drove a station wagon full of children into a Manhattan highway wreck.
