South Toms River kills resident, injures 6 firefighters

SOUTH TOMS RIVER, N.J.

The Asbury Park Press reports that the firefighters were searching for a trapped person in the home around 5:30 p.m. Monday when they were injured.

Ocean County Fire Coordinator Brian Gabriel said the firefighters suffered minor burns and smoke inhalation and one had glass in his eye.

The name of the victim was not released Monday, pending positive identification.
