CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A middle school teacher in Charlotte says an 11-year-old student stole her car.

Adrienne Friedrichs told WCNC-TV that the student took her keys to her 2010 Chevy Malibu and used the remote entry system to find it in the parking lot.

Friedrichs says her car was scratched and dented, with gum and cigarette butts on the seats when it was found on a dead end street. She says $1,200 worth of baseball equipment and other items were also stolen.

Police say the 11-year-old has been charged as a juvenile with possession of a stolen vehicle. Friedrichs says the student's family returned the keys to her after they found them.

Friedrichs says she has been teaching for 16 years and never seen anything like this.
