For some, it's a rite of passage. But for Tristan, it's even more important.
You see, Tristan is a foster child, and he's hoping he can collect enough money to help pay for his own adoption.
"You're welcome and thank you for helping our adoption," he belts as a customer walks away.

Foster mom Donnie Davis says four years ago, Tristan came to live with her.
His mother, who was living a life of prostitution and drugs, left the then 5-year-old boy on the door step of a shelter on a 17-degree day.
"I was scared to death," Davis says, "If he was scared, if he was hurt, what was going on through his mind."
Today Tristan has a new life, and says he feels safe and loved.
"...because she's better, I know she's responsible, taking care of me, and I know she's going to be a great mother," Tristan says.
Now all they have to do is make it official.
"He's already a part of our family," Davis says. "In mine and my husband's hearts, that's our son."
