Head-on collision on Marine Parkway Bridge

BELLE HARBOR (WABC) -- There's been a serious, head on collision on the Belle Harbor side of the Marine Parkway Bridge.

It connects Mill Basin Brooklyn with Belle Harbor Queens in the Rockaways.

The collision happened on Beach Channel Drive on the Queens side of the Marine Parkway Bridge around 5:40 p.m.

It happened on Beach Channel Drive coming off the bridge on the Rockaway side from Brooklyn.

Firefighters are working to extricate someone from one of the vehicles now.

Four people were injured, but the severity of their injuries is not yet known.

There are numerous police, fire and EMT's at the scene.
