SOUTH ORANGE (WABC) -- There was a somber gathering in New Jersey on Monday night to mark the 15th anniversary of the deadly dorm fire at Seton Hall.
Hundreds of people gathered for a special mass on the campus of Seton Hall in South Orange.
15 years ago, 3 students were killed and 58 others were hurt when flames swept through Boland Hall, a freshman dorm.
Two students admitted setting fire to a banner draped over a couch in the student lounge as a prank.
The fire led to fire safety initiatives on college campuses in New Jersey, including mandating sprinklers in every dorm room.
