Palmas and Nunez de Gomez were passengers in a Toyota driven by Rosaury Nunez.
A preliminary investigation has concluded that the three women were returning home from the Offsides Bar on Miller Street in Newark.
They were driving south in the northbound lanes of Route 21 near the intersection with Routes 1 and 9 at the time of the accident.
Two drivers of other cars were injured in the crash but released from the hospital Thursday.
