Runoff fears close Long Island beaches
LONG ISLAND A day after closing four south shore beaches, Nassau County
announced Thursday that 18 beaches on Long Island Sound were closed
until further notice. Neighboring Suffolk County closed three
beaches and issued the advisory for 63 others.
