NY Marine killed in Afghanistan

NEW YORK The Department of Defense says 21-year-old Bronx resident Lance Cpl. Alberto Francesconi died New Year's Day while fighting in the Helmand province.

Defense officials announced his death Monday. They've offered no details about how he was killed.

Francesconi was assigned to Camp Lejeune, N.C.
