The driver and a passenger were pronounced dead in the wreckage. One of the victims was identified as 24-year-old Brian Kern, a patrolman with the Andover Police Department
Two other passengers were injured and rushed to Morristown Memorial Hospital, where they were in serious but stable condition.
The eastbound lanes were closed for four hours before one lane was opened.
The crash is under investigation.
