Bronx woman found fatally shot in NYC park

BRONX The woman, in her 20s, was discovered inside Bronx Park, near the intersection of East Gunhill Road and Olinville Avenue.

The victim was found just after 5 a.m. under a tree. Police say a gun was found in the victims possession, but it will be up to the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.

She was shot in the head and pronounced dead at the scene.

Bronx Park is a 718-acre city run park that houses the New York Botanical Garden and the Bronx Zoo.
