According to police, a man in his 60s died in a fire he apparently set in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn
The fire broke out on the third floor apartment on 70th Street just after 9:30 a.m. this morning.
Firefighters were responding to another alarm on the block when they saw the smoke and rushed into the apartment.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
A female neighbor was taken to Maimonides Hospital for smoke inhalation.
